Sunday Worship

WORSHIP SCHEDULE

Sundays -

Holy Eucharist at 9:00 and 11:00 A.M.  We worship at the Historic Union Church, 1004 11th Street, Port Royal. The 11:00 service on the first and third Sundays of the month is "family-oriented" and focused on families with young children. Though the homily is briefer and geared more toward children, it offers something for everyone.

Children's Christian Education -     On Sundays other than the first and third Sundays of the month, a class is offered for children aged K-2nd grade during the 11 a.m. service. Children meet in the Center for lessons based on the scriptural readings assigned for that Sunday. This brings the lessons for parents and children together so that families may discuss and explore them together.  Following the class, children will be escorted to church to join their parents during the Peace.

Nursery - A nursery for infants and children through age 3 will be available during both services.  The nursery is located in St. Mark's Center, 1110 A Paris Ave., Port Royal,

LITURGY

St. Mark's provides service bulletins so that all can follow the readings and prayers taken from the Bible, The Book of Common Prayer, and other approved liturgies of The Episcopal Church.

MUSIC

Hymns during services are from both The Hymnal 1982 and its addendum Wonder Love and Praise. St. Mark's Ensemble, under the leadership of Music Director Diane Mullis-Waddell, offers the opportunity for anyone who likes to sing to join the group around the piano during the offertory.

Weekday Worship

HOLY EUCHARIST & HEALING SERVICE

St. Mark's offers a weekly Eucharist and Healing Service on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Center through September, then in Old Union Church beginning on October 4, 2017.  This provides a relaxed alternative for those absent from home on the weekends. A simple meal and adult education class follow this service.
