In outreach to homeless families with children, St. Mark’s Chapel will participate in the Family Promise program with St. John’s Lutheran host congregation. The coordinator for St. Mark’s is Lee Shaffer (525-0114) ideas@islc.net, and the coordinator for St. John’s is Julie Beagle.
Julie and Lee will be the tie between the two congregations and the link with the county program director, Emily Bugay.
The Day Center is located at 146 Bluffton Rd. (Rte 46). Stop by to see it the next time you are in Bluffton. It's wonderful!
Homeless families are guests in a church school building from Sunday (6:00 p.m.) until the following Sunday morning (7:00 a.m.). See the Job Descriptions and Training Materials links to get an overview of the program and to find out how volunteers can help. There will be volunteer sign-up sheets in church so that you can indicate your areas of interest and availability.
Thank you!
