Highlands Institute on American Religious and Philosophical Thought
This group is a community of productive scholars with diverse theological and philosophical perspectives whose conferences are held in Highlands, NC. It comes recommended by a couple of St. Markers. This summer their lecture series includes Dominic Crossan, Gary Dorrien, Edward Barrett, and John Spong. Click on the following for more information:

January Adventure
ON MAY 29, 2010, RESERVATIONS WERE CLOSED FOR THE 2011 SESSION. THERE IS A WAITING LIST YOU CAN JOIN BY GOING TO THEIR ONLINE SITE.
Several St. Markers have attended this annual conference at Epworth-by-the Sea on St. Simons Island, GA the past three years where speakers have included the likes of Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan. In January 2011 it's titled "Spiritual Maturity in a Time of Christian Conflict and Change" and the spearkers will be Barbara Brown Taylor and Brian McLaren. Due to the difficult schedule of one of the speakers, there will be only one session in 2011 which will begin Friday evening, January 14 and conclude at noon, Sunday, Jaunuary16.
